Bhubaneswar, March 11 -- An alleged case of an Odia girl being taken to Bangladesh and tortured has surfaced, with her family approaching police in Puri district seeking urgent intervention to bring her back.

According to the complaint, the girl was allegedly lured by a youth identified as Sabir through an online application. The accused reportedly introduced himself as a Bengali and developed a relationship with the girl before taking her from West Bengal to Bangladesh.

The family has alleged that the girl is currently being tortured there and is being forced to convert to Islam.

The victim's mother has lodged a complaint with Puri Superintendent of Police (SP) Pratik Singh and appealed to the government to help rescue her daughter. ...
