Guwahati: A fresh development has taken place in the Zubeen Garg-related case as accused Siddhartha Sharma approached the court with a bail application on May 26, even as trial proceedings continue in the matter.

The case, being heard before a Special Fast Track Court in Assam, has already moved to the stage of formal framing of charges. The court, presided over by Judge Sharmila Bhuyan, has framed charges against multiple accused persons under several provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), including sections related to murder, culpable homicide, criminal conspiracy, extortion and cheating.
