Tripura strengthens measures to curb human-elephant conflict in Khowai district
Agartala, July 19 -- The Tripura government has intensified efforts to address human-elephant conflict in Khowai district by setting up five anti-depredation camps, launching a 24-hour helpline and constructing protective trenches in vulnerable areas.
Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma announced the initiatives on Saturday while inaugurating the state-level 77th Van Mahotsav celebrations at Chitrangada Kala Kendra in Teliamura. He also virtually inaugurated the newly established anti-depredation camps at Maiganga, North Krishnapur, Chakmaghat, Ghilatali and East Laxmipur under Teliamura subdivision.
