Agartala: A Tripura High Court vacation bench on Monday granted anticipatory bail to five persons accused of abetting the suicide of BJP leader Rahul Kishore Roy.

The bench, headed by Justice Biswajit Palit, allowed the pre-arrest bail pleas of Manoj Purakayastha, Pranbal Kanti Dey, Hirak Jyoti Nath, Saroj Deb, and Abhijit Das.

"The hearing was conducted on June 11, and the court has allowed the application," advocate Sankar Lodh, counsel for the accused, said.

According to the defence counsel, the court granted relief after hearing arguments from both sides.
