Agartala, April 10 -- Two supporters of the Tipra Motha Party were killed and more than 10 others injured in a road accident while returning from a political programme at Hazamara, Tripura police said on Thursday, April 9.

The deceased were identified as Upendra Debbarma and Smita Debbarma.

The injured were shifted to Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital for treatment, officials said.

Senior party leaders, including executive member Rabindra Debbarma, visited the hospital after receiving information about the incident and met the injured.

Debbarma expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and said the party would extend support to those affected.
