Agartala: Severe storms accompanied by heavy rain and thunderstorms caused widespread destruction across Tripura on April 27 and 28, damaging at least 1,534 houses in different districts of the state. Two people were injured during the adverse weather, while road communication and electricity supply were badly affected in many areas.
According to the State Emergency Operation Centre, no fatalities have been reported so far. However, 129 electric poles were damaged and several roads were blocked after trees were uprooted by strong winds.
