Agartala, April 26 -- Hundreds of Tipra Motha Party workers on Saturday took control of the Chabimura tourism facility in Gomati district, claiming that the site falls under the jurisdiction of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council.

The supporters locked the main gate of the management office and said that members of the existing management committee would not be allowed to enter. However, they maintained that tourists visiting the site would not be restricted from accessing the area.

"Since 2018, a committee comprising BJP leaders has been managing the affairs of Chabimura. It falls within the jurisdiction of the TTAADC, and as the ruling party of the ADC, we should run it," a party worker said.
