Agartala, Aug. 23 -- The Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT), an ally of the ruling BJP, held a rally and public meeting in Agartala to mark Sixth Schedule Day on Sunday, using the occasion to reiterate its demand for a separate Tipraland state.

The programme was organised at Mara Chowmuhani, where IPFT leaders, workers and supporters gathered for the public meeting. Before the event, party supporters took out a procession from the North Gate area and marched through parts of Agartala before reaching the venue, organisers said.
