India, March 4 -- Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Wednesday expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would register an emphatic victory in the forthcoming elections to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).

Addressing media persons after participating in a roadshow at Khumulwng, the headquarters of the TTAADC, the Chief Minister said the party's campaign, themed "Empowering Janajati, Empowering Tripura," had drawn an encouraging response from the people.

He maintained that development initiatives for indigenous communities had gathered pace since Prime Minister Narendra Modi assumed office at the Centre, and that the state government was committed to carrying forward that momentum. ...
