Agartala, April 13 -- In a shocking incident, a schoolteacher allegedly killed his wife and 19-year-old son before attempting suicide at his residence in the Matabari Beltali area of Udaipur subdivision in Tripura's Gomati district on Sunday night.

The accused has been identified as Ajit Das. According to preliminary police findings, he had been undergoing treatment for a mental health condition.

Police said Das allegedly poisoned himself after attacking his family members.

"We received information around 5:00 am about a double murder. When our team reached the spot, we found that Diganta Das and his mother, Rupa Das, had been killed. The prime accused, Ajit Das-husband of the deceased and father of the victim-had consumed pesticides. ...
