Supreme Court to hear plea for CBI probe into Jharkhand civil services exam irregularities
Guwahati, Aug. 24 -- The Supreme Court is set to hear on Monday a petition seeking an independent and time-bound CBI investigation into alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Combined Civil Services Preliminary Examination.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant and Justices Joymalya Bagchi and V Mohana is expected to hear the plea filed by activist Harisharan Devgan through advocate Satyam Singh Rajput.
The petitioner has sought the transfer of the ongoing probe from the Jharkhand CID to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), arguing that the allegations require an independent examination.
