Guwahati, July 15 -- Spain defeated France 2-0 in the FIFA World Cup semi-final to reach their first final since 2010 and set up a title clash with the winner of the England-Argentina encounter.

Goals from Mikel Oyarzabal and Pedro Porro secured Spain's place in the Sunday night's final as the reigning European champions outplayed France, who had entered the match as the tournament's highest-scoring side.

Spain dominated possession and controlled the tempo throughout, restricting France to just two shots on target. It was also the first time France had fallen behind at the tournament.
