Shillong court rejects KSU vice-president Pynkmenlang Sanmiet's bail plea
Guwahati, Aug. 27 -- The District Sessions Court in Shillong on Wednesday rejected the bail application filed by KSU vice-president Pynkmenlang Sanmiet. The court's reasons for denying bail were not immediately available.
Sanmiet's counsel from the KSU Central Executive Council had sought bail on health grounds, citing his poor medical condition.
Sanmiet is among three KSU leaders currently in custody. KSU president Raymond Kharjana and general secretary Reuben Najiar are also facing detention in connection with the recent developments in Shillong.
Former KSU general secretary Donald V. Thabah said the release of the three leaders was not discussed during talks with the Meghalaya government on Wednesday.
