Guwahati: Researchers have recorded the first-ever camera-trap image of a rare musk deer inside Yordi Rabe Supse Wildlife Sanctuary, marking a major milestone in biodiversity documentation in the eastern Himalayan region.

According to forest department officials in West Siang district, the elusive animal was photographed recently through a camera trap installed deep inside the sanctuary's dense forest landscape.

The sanctuary is known for its rugged mountainous terrain, rich vegetation and diverse wildlife habitats.
