Over 10,900 affected by floods in Tripura as Manu River crosses danger mark
Agartala, July 9 -- More than 10,900 people have been shifted to 78 relief camps across Tripura as heavy rainfall continued to disrupt normal life, while the Manu River at Kailashahar in Unakoti district flowed above the danger mark and several other rivers remained at critical levels, according to a report by the State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC).
The SEOC's daily situation report, issued on Thursday, said 2,787 families comprising 10,905 people are staying in relief camps set up across the affected districts.
Unakoti district remains the worst affected, with 35 relief camps housing 6,068 people, followed by Khowai with 2,844 people in 23 camps and Dhalai with 1,913 people in 20 camps. North Tripura has one relief camp accommodat...
