Dimapur, Sept. 12 -- The Governor of Nagaland Nand Kishore Yadav on Friday notified the establishment and operationalisation of the State Water Informatics Centre (SWIC), under the National Hydrology Project (NHP), with immediate effect.

The SWIC, to be run by the Nagaland Water Resources Department, will be responsible for the collection of state water resources data from various data-generating organisations and departments and for its standardisation in accordance with the scheme defined by the National Water Informatics Centre (NWIC).

The centre will be manned by the existing officers and staff of the department under the Superintending Engineer in charge of NHP.
