Guwahati: Following the detection of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Toulazouma village under Chumoukedima district, the district administration has enforced immediate containment measures to curb the spread of the disease.

In an official advisory, Chumoukedima deputy commissioner Polan John stated that the outbreak was confirmed by the office of the chief veterinary officer. Authorities have declared the area within a 1-km radius of the affected village as an "Infected Zone", while regions falling within a 10-km radius have been categorized as a "Surveillance Zone".
