Aizawl, July 19 -- Mizoram Tourism Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar has invited major event organisers to host tourism and entertainment events in the state, pitching Mizoram as an emerging hub for event tourism in Northeast India.

Hmar made the appeal while attending Imaginarium 2.0 - North East Events and Entertainment Leaders' Summit in Guwahati on Saturday, according to an official statement issued on Sunday.

The summit brought together stakeholders from the event, tourism, hospitality and entertainment industries across the Northeast.

Addressing the inaugural session, Hmar said Mizoram had significant untapped tourism potential and stressed the need to convert it into economic growth through event tourism.
