Mizoram estimates Rs 879.82 Cr disaster recovery cost over five years

Guwahati: Mizoram will require an estimated Rs 879.82 crore for recovery and reconstruction following a series of disasters between 2021 and 2025, according to the state's Post Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA) report reviewed at a meeting of the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) on Thursday.
The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Lalduhoma and attended by National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) member Rita Massal, reviewed the impact of Cyclone Remal, African Swine Fever (ASF), heavy rainfall, landslides and rodent outbreaks that affected parts of the state during the period.
