Aizawl, July 19 -- The Mizoram government has declared a holiday for all schools, colleges and other educational institutions on Monday to enable students and employees to watch the FIFA World Cup 2026 final between Argentina and Spain.

The General Administration Department issued the order through an Office Memorandum dated July 19, citing the tournament's culmination and the widespread public interest in the event. The memorandum was signed by Principal Secretary Sudhir Kumar.

All state government offices, except banking institutions, will observe a half holiday on Monday. The offices will remain closed during the forenoon and resume functioning from 1 pm to 5 pm.
