Aizawl, July 19 -- Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on Saturday asserted that transparent and merit-based recruitment has restored youth confidence in the government.

Addressing the passing-out parade of the 70th batch of police constables at the Police Training School (PTS) in Thenzawl in Serchhip district, the Chief Minister said all 275 recruits had earned their place solely through merit in a fair and competitive selection process, free from political backing or favouritism from ministers or politicians.

He said the government's recruitment policy is guided by the principle of "Equality for All" and stressed that only qualified candidates would be entrusted with public service.
