Mizoram: SIR deletes 78,442 names, adds 39,243 electors to final roll
Aizawl, Sept. 7 -- Mizoram's electoral roll underwent a significant reshuffle during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), with 78,442 names deleted and 39,243 new electors added, taking the state's final voter count to 8.35 lakh, a senior official said on Monday.
The final roll, published on Monday after the completion of the SIR exercise, also recorded Mizoram's first third-gender elector, alongside 4 lakh male and 4.32 lakh female voters, according to state Chief Electoral Officer Garima Gupta.
The SIR was launched across all districts of Mizoram on May 20 alongside 15 states and two Union Territories covered in the third phase of the nationwide revision exercise.
