Aizawl: Five individuals, including two juveniles, have been arrested in connection with the brutal assault of a teenager in Mizoram's capital, police said on Wednesday.

The incident took place in the early hours of Tuesday near the Grand Hotel in Aizawl's Chanmari locality, where a group of five youths allegedly attacked a 19-year-old following a confrontation. According to police, the victim was on his way home when the assault occurred.

Officials said three of the accused have been sent to judicial custody, while the two minors were handed over to the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB).

The injured youth is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital and is reported to be out of danger.
