Guwahati, July 23 -- The Supreme Court on Thursday cancelled the bail granted to Sonam Raghuvanshi, an accused in the murder case of her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Meghalaya in 2025.

A bench of Justices M M Sundresh and P B Varale allowed the Meghalaya government's plea challenging the bail order and directed Sonam to surrender before the police within three weeks.

The court, however, said that if the trial does not begin and conclude within six months, Sonam would be allowed to approach the court again for bail.

Sonam, a resident of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested in June 2025 in connection with the killing of her husband, businessman Raja Raghuvanshi.
