India, March 12 -- As tensions rise in parts of Meghalaya, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma called on residents to remain calm and address conflicts through dialogue instead of violence.
In a video address, he revealed that he had been alerted about certain groups and individuals reportedly moving toward his home with intentions to damage the property and threaten his family. Following the information, security personnel advised him to move to a safer location as a precaution.
Despite the warnings, the Chief Minister chose to remain at his residence.
I was told to relocate for safety, but I decided to stay. I am not afraid," he said, demonstrating his determination to face the tense situation.
