Guwahati, April 26 -- Meghalaya's proscribedHynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) has raised objections over the placement of defence facilities in and around Shillong, saying it does not fit with the purpose of the ongoing civil defence exercise ARMEX-1 2026.
General secretary Sainkupar Nongtraw said the recent air raid mock drills held across Meghalaya involved blackout practice and public response training, but questioned why major military installations continue to function in crowded urban areas.
