Meghalaya: FIR filed after midnight robbery of FCI foodgrains in Jowai

Guwahati: A truck carrying Food Corporation of India (FCI) foodgrains was allegedly targeted by unidentified robbers near the FCI Food Storage Depot (FSD) at Jowai in Meghalaya during the intervening night of May 19 and 20.
According to an FIR lodged by FCI contractor firm Purbanchal Banijya Vikash, around eight to ten unidentified persons allegedly stole bags of foodgrains from a parked truck bearing registration number AS25CC-3212 outside the FCI FSD in Jowai.
The company, which is engaged in handling and transportation of FCI foodgrains under a contract from Railhead Kamalajari to FSD Jowai, stated that a rake carrying foodgrains had arrived at Kamalajari on May 18.
