Meghalaya: Fact-finding panel seeks public representation on proposed Shree Cement Project
Guwahati, Sept. 16 -- The Meghalaya Government-constituted fact-finding committee on the proposed setting up of Shree Cement Company in East Jaintia Hills has invited representations from individuals, organisations and public to assist its inquiry by September 29.
The committee was constituted through a government notification issued on September 8, following a government directive dated September 3. It has been tasked with examining the circumstances surrounding the disruption of a public hearing held in connection with the proposed project.
The public hearing, convened by the Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board, was scheduled for July 31 in East Jaintia Hills.
