Guwahati, April 14 -- The Manipur government has extended the shutdown of mobile internet, data services and VPN access in five districts for another two days due to security concerns.
An official notification stated that the curbs will continue in Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching and Bishnupur from 2 pm on Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The decision was taken after assessing the current situation on the ground.
Earlier, authorities had stopped mobile data services in these districts for three days starting April 7 as a precaution during heightened tension. A day later, limited internet access through wired connections such as leased circuits and home fibre networks was allowed in a controlled manner.
