Imphal, April 7 -- At least three people were killed and several others injured after CRPF personnel allegedly opened fire during a protest at Tronglaobi in Manipur's Bishnupur district on Monday, sources said.

The incident took place at Tronglaobi Maning in the Gelmon area, where a large crowd had gathered outside a CRPF camp following the recent attack in which two minor siblings were killed and their mother critically injured.

According to eyewitnesses, protesters accused security forces of failing to prevent the attack and alleged that armed groups were being allowed to operate from nearby areas.
