India, Nov. 21 -- A 25-year-old man allegedly shot his father's younger brother (paternal uncle) to death and then killed himself in Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai, about 1 km from the Singjamei police station in Manipur's Imphal West district on Friday noon, officials said.

The deceased has been identified as Akoijam Santikumar, a retired Additional Superintendent of Police of the Manipur government.

The incident took place at the residence of the retired officer, located in Mayengbam Leikai near the NRL Oil Pump on National Highway 102, around 12:30 pm on Friday.

The accused, Akoijam Kishan, 25, was found in a pool of blood with a gun apparently used in the crime.
