Guwahati, April 24 -- A Naga Village Guard member, Horshokmi Jamang, was killed in an armed attack in Sinakeithei village in Manipur's Ukhrul district on Friday, according to the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) Working Committee.
The group said the incident took place in the early hours when Naga Village Guard personnel were on routine patrol between Sirarakhong and Sinakeithei villages.
The victim, 29-year-old Horshokmi Jamang, son of Lungshim Jamang from Chatric Khullen in Kamjong district, was fatally shot during an ambush near Sinakeithei.
The committee attributed the attack to armed Kuki groups operating under Suspension of Operations (SoO) arrangements, along with other armed elements.
