Imphal, Oct. 17 -- The Kuki Women Organisation for Human Rights (KWOHR) has condemned the alleged abduction, sexual assault and murder of a woman on a road in Manipur's Kamjong district, which borders Myanmar.

In a press statement issued from Churachandpur district, the organisation accused cadres of the NSCN-IM of committing the crime.

The organisation said the woman's naked and severely mutilated body bore signs of extreme physical and sexual violence.

KWOHR described the incident as a deliberate act of brutality rather than an isolated crime. It said the violence showed a disregard for human life and moral values.

The organisation also said the desecration of a woman's body violated the dignity of all women and humanity.
