Imphal, Sept. 13 -- The Kuki Inpi Jiri, Tamenglong and Noney (JTN) has announced a 24-hour economic blockade in protest against the killing of a Kuki woman and the injuries sustained by her husband and six-year-old son in an attack at Tollen village in Manipur's Tamenglong district on Sunday.

In a statement, the organisation condemned the attack and alleged that suspected Naga militants opened fire at the family's home at around 4 am.

The organisation identified the deceased as Lhingjangai Singsit, wife of Seineh Singsit. It said Seineh, a farmer, sustained serious bullet injuries, while their six-year-old son was also wounded. Their other two sons escaped unharmed, according to the statement.
