Imphal, Aug. 4 -- The principal of the Eklavya Model Residential School (EMRS) at Zeikhuluang Loktak Project in Manipur has been relieved of his duties after allegations of food shortages and poor living conditions at the residential school sparked widespread concern.

The action came on August 3 after reports alleged that students had been facing an acute shortage of food and other essential supplies, with some reportedly going without proper meals for days. The allegations prompted calls for immediate intervention from the state government and the concerned authorities.
