Kangpokpi, April 22 -- The Kuki Inpi Manipur on Wednesday responded to allegations and reports circulating in connection with recent developments in S. Changoubung village in Kangpokpi district during the ongoing total shutdown called by the United Naga Council.

The organisation said the concerns raised were linked to incidents of alleged unauthorised entry into S. Changoubung Kuki village, obstruction of movement, and attempts to compel residents and shopkeepers. It also mentioned reports of verbal and physical abuse in the area.

Kuki Inpi Manipur rejected allegations that the Kuki community disrespected the dead, hurt Naga sentiments, or provoked violence. It said these claims are not correct and misrepresent the situation.
