Guwahati, April 24 -- The Kuki Inpi Manipur has strongly condemned what it described as a "barbaric and premeditated" attack on Mulam Kuki village in Manipur's Songphel-Mulam area in the early hours of Friday.
According to the organisation, villagers first heard gunfire around 1:00 AM, followed by a coordinated assault at approximately 5:30 AM, allegedly carried out by armed Tangkhul militants.
The attack left two villagers dead-identified as Letlal (43) and Paominlun Haolai (19)-who were said to have been defending their village during the assault.
KIM further alleged that at least 17 houses were set ablaze during the attack, leaving several people injured and displacing numerous families, including women and children.
