Guwahati: Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is likely to visit Assam in the first half of July as part of a proposed visit to India, according to a report by NHK WORLD-JAPAN.

The international broadcasting service of Japan's public broadcaster NHK reported that Takaichi may travel to India as early as July for talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Citing Japanese government sources, the report said arrangements are underway for Takaichi to visit Assam, where she is expected to hold her second in-person meeting with Modi.
