Guwahati, July 18 -- Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Saturday launched an indefinite hunger strike after Delhi Police removed climate activist Sonam Wangchuk from the Jantar Mantar protest and admitted him to hospital, citing his worsening health.

Dipke announced the decision in a post on X, saying his indefinite fast had begun with immediate effect.

The announcement followed a statement from the New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police's office, which said Wangchuk was shifted to hospital for "essential medical care" based on medical advice and in compliance with directions issued by the Delhi High Court.
