Guwahati: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Assam has searched the residence of BJP MLA Ramakanta Deuri in Morigaon district as part of its investigation into the alleged recruitment scam in the Assam Fisheries Development Corporation Ltd (AFDCL).

The search operation was carried out in connection with allegations of irregularities in appointments made within the state-run corporation. Investigators are examining the recruitment process and scrutinising a number of appointments that have come under the scanner.

The CID has also summoned Deuri to appear before investigators for questioning as the probe gathers pace.
