Bangladesh sets conditions for Tarique Rahman's India visit, seeks Sheikh Hasina's extradition
Guwahati, Aug. 16 -- Bangladesh has told India that certain outstanding issues must be addressed before Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's proposed bilateral visit can take place, including the extradition of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Foreign Ministry spokesman AKM Shahidul Karim said on Sunday that Dhaka has asked New Delhi to speed up action on its requests for Hasina and other fugitives to be extradited to Bangladesh. It has also sought the handover of those accused in the killing of Inqilab Moncho spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.
