Guwahati, July 13 -- Assam will launch a dedicated over-the-top (OTT) platform to promote Assamese cinema, folk music, documentaries, literature and other regional content, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Monday.

The chief minister said the initiative forms part of the vision outlined in the Assam Budget 2026 and is aimed at creating a digital platform for showcasing content from the state.

"Dear OTT platforms, make some room, Assam's joining the list," Sarma said in a post on X.

He said the proposed platform would feature Assamese cinema, folk music, documentaries, literature and other regional content, providing a dedicated digital space for stories rooted in the state's culture and traditions.
