Assam steps up scrutiny of alleged stone mining in disputed area belt along Nagaland

Guwahati: Assam Special Chief Secretary M.K. Yadava on Thursday inspected areas along the Doyang River in Uriamghat amid growing allegations of illegal stone mining near the Assam-Nagaland border.
Accompanied by senior officials from the district administration, Forest Department, CRPF, police and border authorities, Yadava carried out an on-ground inspection at multiple locations where stone extraction has reportedly been taking place.
Drone surveillance was also deployed during the visit to assess the extent of the alleged mining and identify any recent developments in the area.
