Guwahati, Aug. 11 -- In a remarkable conservation milestone, the Assam State Zoo in Guwahati has announced the birth of four healthy Asiatic lion cubs on Sunday.
Born on July 24, 2025, to lioness Kesari, the cubs have brought new hope for the preservation of this endangered species.
Assam Forest Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary posted on X on Sunday evening: "We are excited to announce that on July 24, 2025, our beloved Asiatic lioness, Kesari, gave birth to four healthy cubs at the Assam State Zoo.
