Guwahati, Aug. 16 -- Assam's rich cultural heritage took centre stage in London as the Nehru Centre hosted Nritya Sangam, a cultural evening bringing together classical and folk traditions from the Northeast on July 24.

The programme opened with a graceful Krishna Vandana presented by Assamese Sattriya dancer and actor Rodali Bora, setting the tone for an evening centred on India's diverse dance traditions.

One of the main highlights was the coming together of Sattriya and Kathak, with Kathak exponent Meghranjani Medhi delivering a performance before a packed audience. Medhi, who has received the Sangeet Natak Akademi Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, showcased the intricate movements and expressive style of Kathak.
