Guwahati, July 23 -- The inaugural edition of the Assam Premier League (APL) will begin on August 1, with eight teams competing in a 43-match tournament spread over 23 days.

According to the official schedule, the league will comprise 40 league-stage matches, two semi-finals and the final, which is scheduled for August 23 at 7 p.m.

The tournament will open with a double-header on August 1. Charaideo Sunrisers will face Barpeta Braves at 2 p.m., followed by Tezpur Titans taking on Dibrugarh Warriors at 7 p.m.

Action will continue on August 2, with Barak Legends meeting Nagaon Rangers in the afternoon before Guwahati Royals begin their campaign against Jorhat Stallions in the evening.
