Doomdooma, Aug. 7 -- The Assam Power Department has intensified efforts to restore electricity in the flood-affected districts of Sivasagar, Jorhat, Golaghat and Charaideo by reconnecting damaged transformers and repairing power infrastructure.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday praised the department's personnel for their round-the-clock efforts to restore power and help flood-affected people return to normal life.

In a statement shared on social media, Sarma said, "Despite the difficult flood situation, our Power Department has been working round the clock with the aim of helping the affected people return to normal life."
