India, March 21 -- Pradip Baruah has been named the joint opposition candidate for the 57-Kaliabor Assembly constituency in Assam.
He will run on a Raijor Dal ticket, receiving backing from key opposition parties including the Indian National Congress and Assam Jatiya Parishad.
The announcement forms part of a wider strategy to present a united front against the ruling alliance in the upcoming state elections.
