Guwahati, Aug. 1 -- The Office of the Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, has terminated the deployment of 37 Home Guards who had been attached as static guards, office personnel, and orderlies at the residences and offices of judges, former judges, politicians, senior police officers, and government institutions after the completion of their six-month tenure.

According to an order issued by the Commissioner of Police, Guwahati, the Home Guards have been relieved from their duties with effect from July 31, 2026, in accordance with the provisions of the Assam Home Guards Act and Rules, 1947, as amended in 2015.
