Guwahati, July 23 -- A viral audio recording purportedly featuring a conversation between a Guwahati Police officer and a minor girl has raised questions over whether students were contacted by law enforcement ahead of a solidarity protest in Guwahati supporting the Cockroach Janta Party's (CJP) nationwide agitation over education reforms and activist Sonam Wangchuk.

The recording, which has been widely circulated on social media and messaging platforms, is claimed to feature Chandmari Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Pranami Bharadwaj Borah speaking to a school student. In the audio, the caller identifies herself as the ACP of Chandmari and asks the girl to disclose her current address.
